Presbyterian Healthcare Services was formed with the goal of improving the health of their patients, their members, and the communities they serve.  They are a healthcare system that is locally owned and operates as a not-for-profit and is known around the nation for having an extensive experience in incorporating healthcare financing and delivery.

Presbyterian Healthcare Services started out as a small tuberculosis sanatorium in 1908.  Several years later, they are now a system of nine (9) hospitals, a multi-specialty medical group having over 900 providers plus a statewide health plan in New Mexico.  They serve one in three New Mexicans with healthcare and coverage.

Presbyterian Dual Plus is an HMO Special Needs Plan (HMO D-SNP) that has a Medicare contract plus a contract with the State of New Mexico Human Services Department Medicaid Program.  Presbyterian Dual Plus (HMO D-SNP) is a Medicare Advantage Special Needs Plan works with Medicare to provide members meaningful coverage beyond Original Medicare.  Once members sign up, their Original Medicare will be retained but will receive additional Part A and Part B coverage provided by Presbyterian Health Plan and not from the Original Medicare which are as follows:

• Podiatry Services
• Vision Services
• Meals
• Over-the-Counter Debit Card

This is a program that will enable you to acquire over-the-counter items that will arrive at your address in the mail.  The card must be activated and the initial OTC dollar amount will be loaded onto the card.  This benefit will also assist you with the cost of essential health care products that are not within the medical or pharmacy expense under your plan.  To add to this, it can aid you in saving money on a vast array of generic branded health essential products like cold medicines, pain relievers, dental care, first aid supplies, and so much more.
